The Imperfect Artist’s Way
May 11 – July 27, 2025
Sundays at 12 PM ET
You Know You're Meant to Create. But Where Do You Even Start?
You feel the pull toward creativity—writing, painting, photography, music, or simply living a more creative life. Maybe you've even picked up The Artist’s Way, hoping it would be your path to unlocking that inner magic.
But then… reality hits.
🔹 The daily journaling (7x a week!) feels like too much.
🔹 Finding time for 1-2 hour weekly Artist Dates? Nearly impossible.
🔹 The exercises and prompts? Inspiring, but overwhelming.
So you set the book aside. Maybe you even feel like you failed.
But here’s the truth: The Artist’s Way—as written—is basically impossible to complete perfectly. (Even though it is an incredible, life-changing book and approach.)
That’s why I created The Imperfect Artist’s Way: a gentler, realistic version of The Artist’s Way that keeps the heart of the journey while releasing the pressure to do it all.
A Softer, More Realistic Approach to The Artist’s Way
What if you didn’t have to do everything in The Artist’s Way to experience its magic?
What if you could embrace the transformation—without the overwhelm?
This 12-week experience is designed for recovering perfectionists, sensitive souls, and busy creatives who feel a calling but struggle with time, control, or the weight of “doing it right.”
Instead of pushing through every exercise, every morning page, every commitment, we do a gentler, more intuitive version together.
A version that still sparks transformation, but in a way that actually fits into real life.
This is for you if…
✨ You’ve tried The Artist’s Way before—but never finished.
✨ You feel pulled toward creativity but are too busy, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start.
✨ You long for a creative practice that feels nourishing, not punishing.
✨ You crave support, conversation, and a sense of belonging on this journey.
This is a soft space for artists, dreamers, writers, and seekers to explore their creativity without the impossible standards.

Why This Matters to Me: How The Artist’s Way Changed My Life
In 2015, I bought The Artist’s Way. And then…I ignored it.
For two years, it sat on my bookshelf, gathering dust.
I told myself I’d get to it “someday.” But deep down, I was scared.
Scared of what it might unlock. Scared I’d fail.
The truth?
Scared that if I admitted I wanted a more creative life, I’d have to do something about it.
Then, in 2017, I picked it up again. And this time, I started.
At the time, I was stuck in a corporate career that didn’t feel like my calling. I had massive writer’s block. I felt unmoored, uncertain—knowing something was calling me toward more, but not knowing how to begin.
The Artist’s Way—especially the practice of morning pages—became my turning point.
🌟 I left my corporate job.
🌟 I had a spiritual awakening.
🌟 I started The Sunday Soother, my weekly newsletter, which now has thousands of readers.
🌟 I launched my life coaching business.
🌟 I started dating my now-husband.
To say it changed my life would be an understatement.
But here’s what I know now: it wasn’t about doing The Artist’s Way perfectly. It was about letting it work on me, imperfectly.
And that’s what I want for you.
✺ Frequently asked questions ✺
-
They will be Sundays, going from May 11-July 27, for 12 weeks, at 12pmET. About 90 minutes in length, sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more. They will always be recorded for replay. The calls will include a bit of teaching and channeling (including Tarot!) from Catherine at the start, then we’ll do some group sharing and coaching.
-
You don’t have to! The best part about The Artist’s Way is that you can pick up a copy for $12 and absolutely do it on your own (that’s what I did) and it WILL change your life. This group is for those who perhaps have repeatedly tried to do that and struggled, and know that accountability, community and guidance will help them stick to the practices. I’ll also be including a private online community, weekly 90-minute calls for sharing, Tarot guidance, and teachings from my own 8 years of having worked with this book.

This isn’t the LSATs or your taxes; there are no rules for how you approach any healing modality, creative book, or approach in your life. I find that many of my clients are really desiring to do the Artist’s Way, but get stuck in the rigidity of having to do EVERYTHING PERFECTLY in the book. Then they get through like two chapters and give up. I find a softer, gentler, less-is-more approach allows folks to actually stick with doing the entire book — which is what we want!

I’ll share more in the class, but essentially, we’ll be doing less. Fewer days of morning pages, fewer artist’s dates, more flexibility, and choosing to dump the extra assignments that are offered each chapter. We’re sticking to the basics, and even those we are making more doable.

I’m Catherine, and I’ve been a certified life coach, working with sensitive women, since 2019. I teach everything from spiritual tools (Tarot, feng shui, energy work) to practical healing (inner child work, journaling, mindset, nervous system regulation). I completed The Artist’s Way in 2017/2018 and it radically changed my life and led me to this work you see here. I still continue to use Morning Pages on and off for the last 8 years. I live in Virginia with my husband and you can read more about my certifications, training, background and beliefs here. If you have any other Qs, you’re welcome to reach out.
