The Perimenopause Reset

Lifestyle, diet, and mindset techniques to navigate hot flashes, mood swings, and energy dips—created for those who feel deeply, in body and soul.

I promise you: Perimenopause doesn’t have to feel like total crap.

Let me show you how.

The brain fog. The anger. The mood swings. The fatigue. The anxiety and looping thoughts. A libido that’s gone on the lam. The disrupted sleep. The sudden weight gain.

Why does perimenopause feel like it’s turning you into a person you don’t even recognize?

And what if I told you that it doesn’t have to be this way?

The narrative around perimenopause (which can start in our 30s and go to our 50s) is that it will be a time of physical and emotional struggle without any recourse or solutions, and we just have to suck it up.

But what if that’s just because the patriarchal, male-dominated medical field hasn’t really studied this transformative time? Doesn’t understand practical and doable lifestyle changes that lessen or sometimes even eliminate crippling symptoms? Hasn’t paid attention to the environmental contributors that can cause us to struggle unnecessarily during this time? Buys into the societal narrative (whether directly stated, or, more often, implied) that women, after their fertile years, just aren’t worth putting any time, money or effort into?

Fuck that.

What if I told you that perimenopause could be a ritual time of transition? A fire that burns away with clarity anything that no longer serves us? That turns us into the Wise Crone, the elders that society needs now more than ever?

And, most importantly, that we don’t have to suffer with extreme and painful physical and emotional symptoms to get there. That you can feel like yourself again, and get your body and brain back from the hormones that have hijacked them, and in your power.

The Perimenopause Reset is an 8-week course from January 5 - February 23, 2025. It's for the highly sensitive person who believes they are undergoing perimenopause and are ready for information and community on holistic, nutritional and lifestyle changes that can help you regain energy, sleep, a stable mood, and your sanity.

Perimenopause can especially rock the HSP’s world

Due to our sensitivity to hormones, our easily-dysregulated nervous system, our susceptibility to anxiety and stress, our sensitivities to food, the way we are prone to blood sugar dysregulation and insulin resistance that can affect our moods and bodies, when perimenopause arrives for the highly sensitive woman (as early as our 30s in some cases), it can feel like a radically disorienting time….

Does this sound familiar?

  • You may put on 20 pounds seemingly overnight, or start picking screaming matches with your previously stable and loving partner or children (HOW did they become SO irritating?!).

  • Sleep goes out the wayside, and energy levels crash.

  • You start chugging caffeine to keep up with the demands of work and the world, but you know it’s also deeply contributing to anxiety that now feels more intense than ever.

  • Stress that you know you could have handled just fine a few years ago seems to teeter you over the edge. You feel fragile, emotionally and mentally, instead of the resilience you used to have.

  • You think constantly about quitting your job, leaving your partner, and you’re just so angry.

You’re not totally sure that hormone replacement therapy is the right answer, at least right now. You have a sense that it maybe doesn’t have to be this hard, but everybody around you says, yeah, this IS just the way it is, so you better be prepared to suck it up.

Doctors? They don’t have any answers except to tell you to lose weight and get better sleep. No sh*t, sherlock, you wanna say back, but you try.

Except everything you used to do for weight management doesn’t work anymore, and despite all the meditation and melatonin in the world, you still find yourself staring at the ceiling every night at 3am.

That’s where the Perimenopause Reset comes in.

  • So much more goes into managing perimenopause than just diet. In the Reset, we’ll dive into environmental approaches like resetting your circadian rhythm and blocking blue light; understanding stress, adrenals and the HPA-axis and how it may be dysfunctional; practical stress reduction tools that actually work; and what kind of targeted supplementation can ease your symptoms.

  • Learn how to gain control of your thoughts, stop ruminating and negative fantasizing, and empower your brain to become the power-house it used to be and can still be, through effective mindset and journaling techniques that help you stop being at the mercy of your hormones.

The Perimenopause Reset is an opportunity to nurture your body and mind with techniques that respect your sensitivity. Take a step toward relief and transformation. Join a community of supportive women who understand what you’re going through and are here to empower each other.

Course outline:

  • Week 1, Overview and Orient for Success: Together we set intentions, do a symptom evaluation for our baseline, how to use the Daily Perimenopause Tracker, and prepare our minds and bodies

  • Week 2, It Starts With Light: Did you know what kind of light you’re seeing will affect your hormones? This week we go over the tenets of circadian rhythm, how to connect to the energy-giving source of the earth, and talk about the right supplements and hydration to support your health

  • Week 3, Mastering Blood Sugar: During perimenopause, fluctuating hormones can increase insulin resistance, leading to unstable blood sugar levels that may worsen symptoms like mood swings, fatigue, and weight gain. This week, we discuss how why to use a continuous glucose monitor to see what spikes us.

  • Week 4, Starting the HSP Perimenopause Diet: It’s true, food is medicine, especially menopause, but the diet you think is healthy may not be serving your needs during perimenopause. This week we focus all on creating a high fat, high-to-moderate protein, and lower carb/sugar diet; learning how to track our macros; plus gentle intermittent fasting

  • Week 5, The Stress Connection: Discover how chronic stress and adrenal fatigue influence your perimenopause symptoms. Learn how the HPA axis—your body’s stress response system—impacts everything from mood swings to energy levels, and gain practical tools to support and balance your body for lasting relief.

  • Week 6, Mindset & Emotional Mastery: Learn powerful mindset and journaling techniques to navigate the emotional rollercoaster of perimenopause. We’ll explore and practice tools for resilience, inner calm, and embracing resilience.

  • Week 7, Sustainable Strength: Explore ways to build strength and incorporate gentle, cycle-supportive movement that energizes and empowers you throughout perimenopause and beyond.

  • Week 8, Integration and What’s Next?: Reflect on your progress, celebrate your wins, and discover strategies to maintain and deepen your well-being practices as you move forward.

FAQ

  • How long do I have access to the course? The weekly live calls and the community last for 8 weeks, but all the materials and call replays are yours forever. Lifetime access!

  • Do I have to give up a ton or make massive changes in this course? I’m scared 😬 I won’t lie to you; if you’re suffering greatly right now with perimenopause symptoms, you should expect to have to make some lifestyle changes, particularly in stress and diet. I will ask you to give up alcohol for these 8 weeks, for example; lower sugar and carb intakes; and change your diet. But I’ll do it in my gentle, sustainable, week-by-week style, so you can actually DO it, and incorporate it in a healthy way for the rest of your life. I’m not gonna hit you with an overwhelming wall of information and change right away. We build, little by little, to make this accessible and doable over the 8 weeks. It’s okay to go slow!

  • How much time should I expect to dedicate to this course? The weekly live calls will be 60-90 minutes (you can always watch on replay if you can’t attend live). I also have a daily tracker I ask you to fill out every day of the course that takes 5-10 minutes a day, and I will be asking you to track your nutrition, which can take a bit of time. But the rest of the work is about implementation, so it’s less that you will have a workbook that will take you 2 hours - it’s more about switching your lifestyle. Can you work outside for 30 minutes a day? Can you wear blue blocking glasses after sunset? Can you decide to drink your coffee AFTER breakfast? So there’s really not dedicated homework outside of the class, it’s more about integrating lifestyle shifts into your existing routines and schedules.

  • What if I don’t have a period (I’ve lost it, am on birth control, or any other reason)? Can I still take this course? You absolutely can. I’ll teach you how to use the moon for tracking and shifts, and the lifestyle changes will still benefit your health.

  • When are the calls? Every Sunday, 12pmET, from January 5th - February 23rd. They’re all recorded for lifetime replay/access.

  • Will I need to purchase extra stuff for this course? Nothing is absolutely required, but I do recommend specific supplements, lifestyle tools and particularly a continuous glucose monitor. Investing and using those will skyrocket your results, but they are not mandatory.

  • I have a question that I don’t see answered here. Please feel free to email me at catherine@catherinedandrews.com.

My perimenopause story

Perimenopause came for me hard in my late 30s, and I didn’t have any idea that that’s what was happening. I seemingly gained 20 pounds overnight, and no matter what I did, all of my exercise efforts only seemed to contribute to inflammation that was taking over my body. Here’s what else happened…

  • My libido went down the toilet

  • My hair started falling out

  • Depression and anxiety (which I had dealt with to some extent much of my adult life) got 10x worse

  • I couldn’t stop picking fights with people, stewing; rage was a constant

  • My sleep was fractured, and I was relying on a toxic mix of alcohol to wind down at night and 4-5 cups of coffee a day to wake me back up

  • I also didn’t realize I was also suffering from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder, much more severe form of PMS). But the arrival of perimenopause walloped it all in my face.

Sometimes it seemed like things would be okay. I felt like myself a couple weeks out of each month. But then the back half of my cycle came roaring in. For two weeks each month, I’d pick destructive fights, make impulsive decisions, and feel deeply dissatisfied with every single aspect of my life. Then the day I got my cycle, it all stopped. But I’d have to spend the next two weeks cleaning up all the fights I’d started and decisions I’d made beforehand. The cycle seemed endless. Doctors had no advice except “lose weight and reduce stress.” When I learned that perimenopause could go on for over a decade, I felt hopeless. Was this all that was ahead?!

Luckily, the answer was: HELL, NO

I’ve never been somebody to give up easily, and I’m always my own first experiment.

Through over two years of my own research, studying, trying tactics out on myself, taking courses, reading every single book on the topic, and eventually entering my own nutritional therapy training, I distilled the most effective lifestyle, diet, supplementary techniques, put my highly sensitive person spin on it and I figured out how I could thrive through perimenopause.

Now, through the exact tactics I’ll be teaching you in the Perimenopause Reset, thank god, I healed, and am now a 45-year-old woman thriving through perimenopause. What does that look like?

  • I lost 20 pounds and am back to the weight that feels right for me, that I’ve carried for most of my adult life

  • My mood is stable the entire month. I may feel a bit more quiet, introverted and emotionally sensitive the day or two before my period, but I know it’s coming and can handle it

  • My sleep is stellar. No more 3am wakeups and staring at the ceiling, dreading the day ahead

  • I no longer rely on caffeine, alcohol and sugar to help me make it through the day, the week, the month… in fact, I’m now sober and caffeine-free: a huge accomplishment for me, given how addicted I was

  • My energy is on point. I hike regularly, play with my nieces and nephews, run my own business and am active in my community

  • Perhaps most importantly, and this is hard to describe, but I just feel like myself again. My brain and body don’t feel hijacked and out of my control

And there’s no reason why, with community, accountability, unique non-medical tactics and info, my step-by-step process, and your own dedication, that the same can’t be true for you this year.
